Patricia Gail Kerich

On October 12, 2019, Patricia Gail Kerich, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, died at the age of 83. She was born on February 11, 1936 in Grosse Pointe to Margaret (Scott) and Sidney Marter. Pat married Bill Kerich on May 4, 1957 and they raised six children together. Pat enjoyed traveling with Bill, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and playing cards with her friends. An excellent seamstress, she made her daughters wedding gowns. Pat was also a busy volunteer in the community, especially at St. Edmund Catholic Church in Warren and later at St Blaise Catholic Church in Clinton Township, where she moved after Bills death. In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Emmons, sister, Kathy Kraatz, and brother, Don Marter. She is survived by her children Jane and Doug Sundmacher of Harbor Springs, Linda and David Falater of Fort Wayne, Anne and John Schwartz of Grosse Pointe Farms, Gail and Jeff Emmons of Eastpointe, Mark and Jill Kerich of Anchorage, and Marilouise and Kevin Riska of South Lyon and 10 grandchildren, Matthew and Josh Sundmacher, Nathanael and Maggie Falater, Kelsie Schwartz, Jon Emmons, Alex, Ellie, and Jack Kerich, and Ethan and Maddie Riska. She is also survived by a brother, Dick Marter and his wife Diane and a sister, Karen Monville, and her husband Dana, as well as many nieces and nephews and Rosie Carr, her friend for over 60 years. A visitation will take place on Thursday, October 17, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with a 7:00 pm rosary at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Woods, 48236. Pat will lie in state on Friday, October 18, from 11:30 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
