Patricia was born March 31, 1932 in Detroit, MI to Anna (nee Maslonka) and Joseph Konieczny. She graduated from Cass Tech High School in 1949. After high school, she attended Wayne University and graduated with a Bachelors in Nursing on February 2, 1954. She married Leonard Zublin on February 6, 1954, and celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2013. After working as a nurse, she changed careers to education and became an elementary school teacher. She earned her Master's of Education on December 11, 1973. She taught first and second grade in the Detroit Public School System for 32 years. As a school teacher, Patricia showed how dynamic of a person she really was. Her dedication inevitably influenced the students she taught for the remainder of their lives.
Patricia retired and enjoyed the rest of her life in the same home where she lived for nearly 50 years in Harper Woods. Patricia, or "Bunny" as she was endearingly often called, was a warm, caring and intelligent person who was fun loving, outgoing and very kind to everyone she'd met. She had a sense of humor and was the hardest working person anyone would meet.
She liked to cook and made meals and treats that we all enjoyed. Patricia, above all else, loved her family. Caring for a husband, 3 boys, her parents, in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins was her lifelong devotion. Patricia welcomed her daughter-in-law Natalie with open arms and loved her as her own daughter. Patricia dearly loved her only grandchild Alina and thoroughly enjoyed everything she did.
Patricia is survived by her sons Brian, Dr. Guy (Natalie), Blane, and her granddaughter Alina. Patricia was and will always be the brightest light for all others to follow. She will be forever loved, cherished, and missed.
An instate for Patricia will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 9:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM.
