Patrick Edward Ryan

Patrick is the beloved husband of 39 years to Teresa Ryan. The caring brother of Tom and Denise Ryan. The treasured step father to Janette Courney. The loving grandfather to Andrew (Kristi) Courney, Alex Courney, and Anthony Courney. Proud great-grandfather to Declan and Dawson Courney.

Patrick and his brother spent their childhood deeply involved in the Boy Scouts. He became the youngest Eagle Scout in Detroit at his time. He graduated from Denby Highschool in Detroit before going to Wayne State University. He started his working career at the National Bank of Detroit before he moved to California. After moving back to Michigan he spent his retirement working as a civil servant for Sterling Heights Senior Center. Patrick was a wonderfully thoughtful husband who always surprised his wife with romantic gestures like buying her roses every week. They were just shy of celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. Family meant the absolute world to Patrick and he loved the opportunity to help raise his grandchildren. He cherished every moment he spent with this grandchildren and great grandchildren. When he wasn’t with his family he was golfing; rain or shine he would be out on the course with his friends. He was an avid sportsman, and accomplished marksman and archer at the Detroit Sportsman Congress. His friends will always remember his eclectic taste in music and will treasure the tapes he made for them.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
