

Paul Clement Gracey Paul Gracey died at the age of 87 on July 24,2017 after a short battle with cancer. Paul was born in Windsor, Ontario on May 10, 1930 to Harold and Norine Gracey. He graduated from Riverside High School, graduated from Wayne State University with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1953 and earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1958. On May 21, 1955, he married the love of his life, Irene Krywy. They celebrated 62 years of marriage this past May. They have nine children. Paul practiced law right up to a year before his death. In addition to practicing as in-house and outside counsel, he was an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and served as a Judge for the State of Michigan. Paul loved sports, especially hockey, baseball, tennis, skiing, swimming and bowling. He was an avid reader and a history buff. He was active in Theater Arts and the Republican Party. He loved spending his summers at his cottage in Goderich, Ontario, Canada. He was a practicing Catholic and very involved with his church, including singing in the St. Paul on the Lake Catholic choir for decades. He is survived by his wife, Irene Gracey (nee Krywy), Barbara Gracey (Norm), Vicky Gracey (Chris), Paul Gracey Jr. (Colleen), Elizabeth Roskam (Peter), Andrew Gracey (Michelle), Kathryn Gracey (Plamen), Taras Gracey (Therese), Peter Gracey (Elizabeth), David Gracey (Allison), and 22 grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. The funeral mass will be Friday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul on the Lake, 157 Lake Shore Road, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. The burial will be at St. Marys Cemetery, 1983 St. Marys Gate (Walkerville), Windsor, Ontario, Canada and will immediately follow the funeral mass.
