Paul LaVigne passed away on October 15, 2015 at the age of 83. He was born on March 18, 1932 in Black River, Michigan; son of John and Ann (nee Gauthier) LaVigne. Paul loved watching sports, playing cards and cribbage. He loved animals especially his cats. Mr LaVigne retired from the Ford Automotive company after 22 years of loyal service. Paul was most fulfilled in his life when he was spending time with his family. When Paul was 14 he met a 16 year old girl named Margaret Wasmundt. They fell in love and were married on January 29, 1955 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage together. Paul served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1954. Mr. LaVigne is survived by his loving wife Margaret. He was proud of his children Paul Jr. (Christina), Lynn Lavigne, Julie Starkey (Paul), and Kimberly Brinker (Todd). He adored his grandchildren Ryan, Rachel, Caitlin, Ryan, Amber, Sara, Charlie, and Dana. He was the great-grandfather of Gavin, Madeline, Emma and Connor. He leaves behind his sisters Marie and Jeanette, and his brother Norman. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 to 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Mr. Lavigne's funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Father Tony Sulkowski officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
