Grosse Pointe Woods - Pauline A. Garavaglia, 97, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026. Loving wife of Frank.
Beloved mother of Marco (Vanessa), Carolyn, Anne (Shawn), Joseph (Betty Anna), and Frank. Also beloved by her grandchildren, Marco and Gabrielle . Loving sister of Dominic, Josephine, Philip and Rose.
Pauline worked at a radio station before marriage. It was a job she enjoyed and remembered fondly.
She raised 5 children and eventually returned to college to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Mercy College, a lifelong goal of hers.
She was President of the Grosse Pointe Symphony Orchestra Society in the early 1990s, and was an active volunteer at the Capuchin Center in Detroit.
Pauline will be cherished in memory for her kindness, sense of humor, intelligence, strength and generous spirit.
A private funeral was held on June 14th, following internment at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. Memorial tributes to Fr. Solanus Casey Center at www.solanuscasey.org/donation.
