Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet Phyllis in person, but through my friendship with her daughter, Pat Quade, I have experienced a wonderful glimpse into the life of a woman who was well loved. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all the family for their loss, and in particular, to my friend, Pat. Please know you have my sincere condolences and much hope for peace in your hearts as time goes on.

Many thoughts of Grandma run through my mind. All so kind and gentle. From our wonderful time running through the sprinkler in the back yard of the house on Wayburn filled with Grandmas roses chasing Chelsea around; to our endless walks at the cottage in Canada. She made everyday that we spent together special in every way. I'm going to miss our orange soup and noodles, grilled cheese with a pickle on the side! We Love You and Miss You Grandma! What a Pip !!!

My favorite memories of Grandma is playing fish and double solitaire with her during the summer in Elk Rapids.I only hope I am as blessed with as great a life as she had. I love you Grandma...keep Grandpa in line up there

We will miss you! You always welcomed me and my brother into your family and home with love. I LOVED dinners at your house and all those pies! You were one of the most joyous individuals I ever met. Thank you for everything. You will truly be missed.

I have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Phyllis! Immediately I think about Christmas parties in Detroit; their tree had the most tinsel I ever saw and the parties were so much fun. She reminded me of our "Nana" (Alyce).. as sisters they looked the most like each other. The Hagen sisters and their singing will always live in my heart! I will miss Aunt Phyllis. Signed with love

Grandma used to love to tell me how she would sit for hours with me as a newborn on her shoulder. She would be in our rocking chair by the Bay Window so I could stare out. She would say, "I can still feel that little head right here." The world and our family won't be the same without our "Pip". I love and miss you Grandma with all my heart.

I have a lifetime of memories of Phyllis that I will always cherish. I will miss that beautiful smile that lights up the dark sky. Phyllis is my peace and serenity that I loved looking forward to everyday. She made me smile so much. I will always remember playing cards with her (even though she made up her own rules to win),our trips to the beauty shop and out to lunch. Sitting in the sun enjoying ice cream. One special memory is when I came at night and she'll be in the bed and i'll tickle her toes to let her know I was there. Oh My GOD she would have the biggest smile I ever seen in life. I needed that smile especially on bad days. That goregous smile and big brown eyes made everything seem so much better. Her family called me her "ANGEL" but she was always my "ANGEL". And I know she will always watch over me. I will miss my bestfriend. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU MY LADY!

What can I say...She taught all her grandchildren their first Lullabiesâ€™, Always had a song for us! She passed her love of song to us all (Some picked it up better then others). She did the same for her Great Grandchildren! Long walks and fun talks, all are what I remember the most. The love of family get togethers and playing cards till late at night! Orange soup and noodles and apple pies there was no better in the world! Her Strong faith in God and dedication even when she wasn't feeling so good, always helped me understand this Beautiful Lady that I was lucky enough to call Grandma, and my children knew here as the One and Only GG. Well were do I start, We all have so many memories of grandma, playing cards, our long talks, her bright smile, Grandma was always able to cheer you up when you were down alway having just the right things to say. When we were kids we would go to grandma and grandpa's for orange soup and noodles and they always had craker jacks. I will miss all your family get togethers, her coming to our house to cheer on the red wings. Grandma I love you miss you.

I am so blessed to have known Phyllis. My heart is hurting now but I am not selfish, God has called her home. She lived a wonderful 93 years and I have surely learned a thing or two from her. I miss her smile, style, and grace. I know she is watching over all of us. I will forever love you. Thank you for allowing me to know you.

We will always remember the fun times we had with Phyllis as our children were growing up. She always had a big smile and a warm hug when she greeted us and always made us feel special. Although i only had the pleasure of knowiing Phyllis for the past 5 years, in that short time i saw a woman of great strength , charm and love.I felt as though i knew her far better then i actually did through Chris' childhood memories.She was a wonderful woman and grandmother. Chris, Craig, Kristin and Cheryl i am so very sorry for your loss,but take comfort that she is now free of her pain and she is in Heaven with Jesus and your wonderful grandfather Lester.You are in our thoughts and prayers.
