Raymond Douglas Johnson

Ray was born to Victor & Caroline Johnson on February 5th, 1958. Ray was the fourth of their eight children; Vic (Barb), Dianne, Ron (Marijude), Jerry (Faye), the late Dave (Susie), Norm (Lisa), and Paul (Connie).

At the age of 19, Ray began a career with plumbing, heating, and boiler work with The Fred Barton Company. It was at The Fred Barton Company where Ray would meet his loving wife of 38 years, Patti. Eventually Ray became an owner of the company that he and Patti continued to operate all these years while bringing four children into the world; Gregory, Mary (Tony) Fortunate, Sean, and Thomas. In 2020, Ray was able to experience the great joy of becoming a grandfather to Mary & Tony’s son, Raymond Briggs Fortunate.

Ray’s indomitable work ethic was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends.

Ray was an avid Red Wings fan, a frequent golfer, enthusiastic about anything outdoors, and a connoisseur of quick little jokes that would brighten any situation.

A visitation for Raymond will be held Friday, March 18, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake Street, Saint Clair Shores, MI 48080.
