Dear Mrs. Otey and Susan,

I’m glad to have found this venue to extend my belated condolences to you at the loss of Rex. It’s many years since he’s past and I had moved to California in the 80s and lost touch with him.

Rex was the Branch Manager that hired me at DCAA in 1979. He first assigned me to Marvin Villiare’s team to learn as a new Auditor and later to plan Marvin’s retirement party.  He meant a lot to me and I’m grateful that he was my boss.

Dear Dell and Susan, I was very sorry to see Rex's death notice in the paper this morning. I had heard that he had been ill when I went to the last retirement party at DCAA. I have many fond memories of working with Rex throughout the many years. I will be unable to unable to make the visitation as Jan is having some surgery tomorrow, but you are both in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Del, We are sure going to miss Rex and his wonderful sense of humor. He was a genuine Gentleman and friend....How I remember so clearly his teasing of my dad; they were sure good buddies. They are probably still joking back and forth in Heaven. love, Margaret & Jim

Dear Mrs. Otey: Bonnie and I were deeply saddened with the news of Rex's passing. Rex was a good man who will be rembered dearly by his family and friends. Mrs. Otey and Susan: Please accept our deepest sympathies on the passing of Mr. Otey. I have many fond memories of Mr. Otey growing up, many of which involved him playfully needling my father, Marvin, over something political in nature, while giving us a wink and a smile on the side. I never saw anyone laugh so heartily as my father and Mr. Otey when they got going about being able to "smell a Democrat" from a mile away. I'm sure you and Susan have many fond memories to sustain you and bring you solace in the coming days. And, while the respect my parents instilled in me made it hard for me to honor his request later in life to address him by his first name, I'll honor it now: Farewell Rex. Michael Villaire

Dear Dell & Susan, Sorry to hear of Rex passing. Very glad to have found each other via the internet after so many years. My mother & his mother (Florence) were cousins. We had many happy family gatherings while growing up. I will miss his e-mails deeply.
