BURNS, Richard "Dick" Noel age 80, of St. Clair Shores, passed away August 16, 2018. Beloved husband of 58 years to Mary Ellen, and loving father to Richard (Jen), David (Nancy) and Steven (Diane) Burns. Proud grandfather to Michael, Matthew and Christopher Burns, and Sarah (Mark) Mobilio. Dick earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering and was a professor at the Detroit Institute of Technology prior to joining Ford Motor Company. He enjoyed a variety of activities including teaching, boating, woodworking, golfing, wintering in Florida and spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all those who had contact with him. Visitation will occur on Saturday, August 18 from 12-4 followed by a Memorial Service at A.H. Peters Funeral Home. 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. Memorial donations can be made to USO or charity of your choice.
