Richard McNeil

Richard (Ritchie) McNeil was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 5th, 1954. He was the proud father of Meghan and Matthew, friend and former husband of Robin, the beloved son of Helen and Bud and the loving brother of Linda and Robert. Ritchie had a passion for baseball that extended from a brief stint in the minor leagues to coaching his son's little league teams from tee-ball through competetive federation teams. His love for baseball was paired with his appreciation and fondness for oldies and classic rock music. Rich was a man who could be described as the life of the party with a very goofy and silly sense of humor. However, he also took the time to cherish the little things in life - like the look on his children's faces when he suprised them with their favorite candy or treats. It made him happy to do things for the people he cared about. Those that he loved could always count on him for favors be they big or small. Richie will be greatly missed by many and remembered as a big man with an even bigger heart. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday July 1st from 1:00 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 7:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods.
