

Robert Stephen Kloenhamer passed away on January 16, 2015 at the age of 67. He was born on August 4, 1947 in Detroit; son of Donald and Olga (nee Stefanski) Kloenhamer. Bob was a proud veteran in the United States Army, serving proudly in Vietnam. He served in the field and specialized in maintaining and repairing the code breaker machines. On January 5, 1985 Robert married the love of his life, Susan Kengel, at Old Saint Mary Church in downtown Detroit. They just celebrated thirty year anniversary. Mr. Kloenhamer was a journeyman electrician and proud member of IBEW Local 58. He worked on many commercial buildings in the area including the VA Hospital, Receiving, Sinai-Grace, and Henry Ford Hospitals. Bob was very handy and intelligent. He loved reading, preferring military history and World War II. He was a film buff and enjoyed cameras and photography. He was interested in coin collecting. His love of animals was shared equally by their love back for him. His hilarity was legendary and he had a sublime sense of timing. He loved the outdoors, nature, and going up north. Bob was a gentle giant. He was selfless, decent, kind, and had the heart of a servant. His biggest love in life was his family. His top priority was taking care of his daughter Emily Marie. He leaves behind his beloved wife Susan. He was proud and loved his daughters Jennifer (Matthew) Fisher and Emily Marie. He adored his granddaughter Breanna and will be missed by his sister Mary Barar. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 pm until the time of his funeral at 7:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Chaplain Shirley Ransom will officiate. Mr. Kloenhamer's funeral will conclude with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Capuchin Monastery, 1820 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, MI 48207.
