Robert Merle Nye died on February 26, 2009 with family by his side. Robert is the former owner of Village Bedrooms Inc. He was 82 years old. Beloved husband of the late Betty Ann. Loving father of Suzanne (Robert VanDeventer) Nye. Cherished grandfather of Michelle Ann VanDeventer. Brother of the late Harry. Brother-in-law of June Nye and Joanne Ames. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Robert will be remembered by the watchful eyes of his neighbors in Indian Village and the caring staff at East Grand Nursing Home. Memorial service 10:30 am Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church, 2144 Iroquois, Detroit, MI 48214.
