Bob was my second brother. His first family lived at 416 Carrie in "The Soo" from 1935 until 1963. Bob left home in 1953 for Detroit and the UofD where he met his wife, Anna Mae. His acerbic wit combined with a willingness always to help made for an indelible relationship between us. While he was my best email companion, replying always promptly with an amusingly phonetic spelling penchant, he was first and foremost passionate about his own family. His emails to me never omitted stories about his grandchildren, whom he adored. How many men provide such stability that six of their seven children never move farther than a mile or so from home? The original Reinhard tribe was Irish-German. We were not big on outward emotional displays; loyalty and humor best demonstrated our familial bonds. Bob left too soon. After losing Big Andy and Ono (Leona), our parents, his passing leaves a gaping hole in my heart. A devout Catholic, he is now with the angels and saints and mom and dad.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Anna Mae. We're dearly glad we were able to see you guys again at the family reunion a few years ago, it brought back such wonderful memories. Bob will live on in our hearts and our thoughts.

I am supposed to be good with words, but words are inadequate at a time like this. He was a good brother,a great father and even greater grandfather and leaves us much too early. To say he will be missed does not seem enough. It will be like missing the sun when we rise. Enough, rest in peace, brother

We always enjoy the Thanksgiving celebration at Uncle Bob's home, and any other occasions when we gather together as family. It is always neat to see his paintings, they are so life-like. He raised a wonderful family and loved them, and obviously enjoyed very much being surrounded by his family members of all ages. We will miss him.

To Anna-Mae and family, I remember when I was first "invited" to be a part of the Reinhard Family -- right around the time when Rachelle and Paul started dating, if I recall correctly (very coincidental!!). Anna-Mae and Bob were always so warm and welcoming (and tolerant) and always made me feel like part of the family -- I soon realized that's how they treated everyone. I am so happy my sister found a man with such wonderful parents who have loved her like one of their own! I remember one of my first chats with Bob was a very long discussion about running (way back when I was on xcountry in highschool) and Bob used to run for fitness and exercise all the time. He was very kind to me and picked a subject I was familiar with and could carry a decent conversation with him on. I soon learned he was also a very well-read and intelligent man and right up on all the current affairs -- I enjoyed listening to him and Paul at the various functions over on Champine Street over the years talking about all sorts of things that I usually didn't even know were happening in the world!!! That's Ok -- Paul would usually give me a "condensed" update after the party was over! Bob and Anna-Mae were almost always regulars at all the birthdays and dance recitals and activities for the kids. He was a wonderful "papa" and such a terrific example and mentor to his family. He will really be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. It's times like this that I wish I was still on Frazho Street so I could run over and give you all a great big teddybear hug. Mrs. Reinhard and Family, I was at St. Joan on Sunday for 12pm mass, and heard Mr. Reinhard's name read during special intentions. I was so shocked to hear about his passing. I am so very sorry for your loss. You have always had the most amazing family, so close, so much love. I can't imagine how difficult this must be for all of you. I hope that a little peace can be brought to you during this time as you recall all of the wonderful memories you have of such an extraordinary man. I will continue to pray for your family.

To Anna Mae and Family: Alyce is my sister and I remember so many good times at Leona and Andy's and I still have some of the Christmas cards (in caricature) that Bob did. He was very special. My condolences to you all. Mary Ellen

Some of my first memories of Bob were being entertained through long winters as he created whole football teams out of clay. Then there were hamburger lunches in a pantry that had each of us lifesize on a wall mural. Bob left home when I was 7, and was back and forth until he married Anna Mae, and they were a great team. I followed him to Detroit and U-D and also followed his pattern of 7 children. His sense of humor was legendary and many of his e-mails were passed to my kids for LOL's (that's laughing out loud if you're not computer savvy). One comment was "It's sad to get old, but as that 102 year old mugged lady in NYC said, I would have beat him up if I was 15 years younger!" We sat together many hours a Big Andy's bedside, and took turns going back and forth to the Soo the summer of '91 that Ono died. For 17 years our families have gathered for TG and graduations and weddings, and even 'Welcome home soldier Bill!", with great regularity and enthusiasm that has been very special. I've loved to sit and match wits with my very thoughtful and always observant brother. As I said to Bob the last time I saw him: May the Lord be with each of us until we meet again on the other side! Dear Anna Mae, Kathy and I just heard about Bob's passing from Tim Sullivan while attending my best friend's funeral mass at old St. Catherine's Church. Our deepest sympathies are with you and your family. God bless you all.

Dear Anna Mae and my cousins and your families - I am so sorry for all of you for your loss. Uncle Bob was much like his brother, my Dad, both being pretty quiet but so loving all the kids and grandkids they've been blessed to have. We had so many fun times as kids, at picnics at one of our homes and spending so many, many holidays at the Feist's home. They were gracious enough to take in the entire Reinhard clan - not a small group - and treated us as part of their familiy. I have so many wonderful memories and I know that all of you do as well. Those, your faith, and the closeness of your family will get you through the difficult days ahead. I'm glad I was able to come up, even so briefly, to be with you for Uncle Bob's funeral. God Bless. To Anna Mae and the Great Seven Kids and Their Kids... It has been many months since my brother's passing and I still can't believe it. It was certainly a kick in the gut and he will be missed. A man of few words, but the cliche, "Actions speak louder than words" could not be more true. People say "I love you" and don't mean it, but his actions were his way of saying it. His humor was mostly negative, not a criticism, just his style and mother and I used to laugh our heads off at his attempts to amuse. He rarely said thank you or good-bye at the end a phone conversation, much like our father; that was just his way. Without a doubt, he was instrumental in getting me an athletic scholarship to the UofD, but never mentioned it. However, he could talk and two compliments he gave me I'll never forget; one on the eulogy I gave at our mother's funeral and the second was stating that I was the only family member with comedic skill..which is true =). He was the type to do good things and preferred not to have a fuss made over him. He had the resources to travel around the world, but preferred to stay home with family. A terrific artist, I remember him teaching me how to make cowboy clay figures as kids and he was outstanding with portraits and drawing cartoons, the latter in minutes. Thanks, Bob, you were a good brother who got along well with your birth family and did a great job with your own family. See you soon.
