

Roberta Ann (Robbie) (Bielak) McCandless of Grosse Pointe Woods, the daughter of Norman and Dorothy Bielak, was born in Detroit on November 21, 1947. She passed away from complications of Dementia peacefully in Grosse Pointe Woods, surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband, John McCandless, sons Frank Bomier (Kelly,) John Bomier (Helen), daughter Jacqueline Hadwin (Stevel), step son Matthew McCandless (Suzie) step daughter Sarah Grace McCandless, grandchildren Jack and Tatum Bomier, Frances Bomier and Anna, Ella and Sadie McCandless;
Brother Steve Bielak (Nancy), sister Margaret Moran (Mike). She was preceeded in death by her oldest sister, Karen (Tilli).
After graduation from Dominican High School in 1965, Robbie established a career as a travel agent. After working for a number of local agencies, then became one of the first six in-house travel agents at Chrysler Corporation. While there she became Executive Travel Agent for all leaders of Lee Iacocca's team. After six years with Chrysler, she opened her own agency is Grosse Pointe Woods, where she was a long-time resident. After retirement, she was an active volunteer at Bon Secours Hospital in Grosse Pointe and loved wintering with family and friends in Fort Myers Beach, Fla.

A visitation for Roberta will be held Monday, October 28, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. A rosary will occur Monday, October 28, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. An instate will occur Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 9:30 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080.
