Ronald Mazon

Ron "Big Man" Mazon, age 77, a resident of St. Clair Shores, formerly of Detroit, passed away at his home on Friday, August 16, 2019. He was born on Sunday, March 8, 1942 to Charles and Ann Mazon. Ron fell in love and married his " Dolly" on Saturday, June 2, 1962 in Birmingham at Holy Name Catholic Church. They went on to create a beautiful family, "The Mazon Girls". Ron was a hard working loving husband, father, and family man. Ron was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially fishing for perch with the love of his life "Dolly". Ron worked as a mechanic for many years and retired as a final inspector from the Chrysler Corporation after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Lake St. Clair Walleye Association for many years. Ron was a Detroit Tigers fan through and through, even when they weren't playing so well. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth "Dolly" and his daughter Donna Szykula. Loving father of Gianna (Rich) Brys, Sherri (Joe) Lach, Charlene (Tim) Booth, and Debbie (Will) Reed. Father-in-law of Frank Szykula. Dear grandfather of Richard Brys, Jr., Jeanne (John) Duffy, Chrissie Rudolph, Cassandra (Gary Mcjennett) O'Dell, Liz Lach, Joe Lach, Ashley (Shane Nowicki) Booth, Sabrina Booth, and Bronson Booth. Dearest great-grandfather of Logan and Brooklyn Brys; John and Jacob Duffy; Aaliyah Rudolph, Noah and Dylan Justus, Grayson and Gavin Mcjennett, and Sophia and Stella Nowicki. "Big Man" also leaves behind many other loving family and friends. He will truly be missed. The family will receive friends Monday, August 19, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236 and the rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. Ron will lie in state on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral Mass of Resurrection 10:00 AM at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church located at 21201 13 Mile Road, St. Clair Shores, MI 48082.
