Ron was the corner stone of the Detroit Power Shop, from his knowledge and expertise, to his mentorship and the technician development, his fingerprints will be seen for years to come. While I didn’t have the pleasure of working directly for him at the time, I did have the opportunity to work with him and am benefiting from his efforts years ago. From the entire Detroit Power Shop, We will miss you.

RON was the rock of the Detroit Power Shop for many years tuff but fair I respected him greatly!!

Ron - I’m going to miss you. You made our job easy when designing the gender projects and the switchgear cutovers. Those nights you never came away hungry because we either had donuts or White Castles during the breaks. The thing I’ll miss the most was you answering the telephone saying “REALE”.

Ron was a fellow Michigan Bell employee and he helped me with my 1962 corvette, which he called “Christine” after the Stephen King novel. Imagine how crazy it was when I found out that he had grown up with my mom! He also taught my son Riley how to fix parts on the corvette. He was a mechanical genius, there is no other word to describe his talent. I know nothing about cars and Ron wouldn’t hesitate to help me through the problems with the car at the drop of a hat. I will miss Ron, his talent, and his sense of humor very much and will think of him when I see a beautiful vintage vette. RIP and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Lori and Riley

I haven't known Ron for very long. I would see him at car shows and we would have some great talks. He sure did love to display that "64" Vette. I was so envious.  I could just see Ron and Nancy cruising the streets of gold in heaven. I'll see you in heaven.  Bryan

To my Dad, my best friend. I looked to you for knowledge, wisdom and advice and just to have a chat and a laugh. I'm so glad we were able to share a relationship of trust, honesty and love. It was my greatest honor to be there for you just as you were always there for me. My heart is broken because I will miss you so much, but knowing you are with Mom and your family brings me peace. I knew Ron from 1978 when I joined Michigan Bell. He was 100% loyal employee of Maa Bell, At & T, Etc.,.. And, he spent week-ends and a few sleepless nights at work to make sure that the phone company always had electrical power so that no customer in Michigan during snow storms and related power outages loose his or her phone service.  Ron will be missed for all who worked with him closely at and off work.

The two memories I will always treasure are the Daytona race in February. Lots of food “placing our bets” on some of the most ridiculous bets Ron would come up with, our driver pet names (Nancy was Reba and Ron was Ron-Bob.). SO MUCH FUN. It was our own personal holiday. Then there was the car outings we all went to together. Woodward Friday night at A&W then of course Woodward Dream Cruise. To close out the car season was was Auto Fest in Frankenmuth. Good times!! I’ve always missed them and will continue to miss them. Great memories. ❤️ Rest In Peace Ron.

I am so very sorry for your loss I truly will miss him he was a great man who loved his family. I know he was a good friend to Bill and myself. Rip my friend until God brings us together again. Love you
