Ronald David Scherer

Ronald David Scherer, age 80 of St Clair Shores, May 3, 2016. He was an Educator for St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eastpointe for many years. Beloved husband of Elisabeth,; loving father of Martin (Kathy) Scherer, Debbie Gonzales, and David Scherer; Proud grandfather of Jason (Tiffany) Scherer, Carly and Kevin Scherer, Jennifer and Megan Scherer, and Mike and Alex Gonzales; Great grandfather of Matthew, Tyler, Julius, Milla, and Natasha; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He graduated from Concordia River Forest College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and received his Masters Degree from Saginaw Valley State University. Ron taught school for 50 years and after retiring he worked at the EEC at ST Peters School and ran the morning Latch Key. He was the library administrator at the school and ran the Sunday School for many years. Ron was a member of the Bell Choir for many years and instituted stolls for the confirmands to wear. Ron enjoyed flowers, painting, drawing, and coloring. The family will receive friends Friday 2-9 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13 mile) Warren.Funeral service Saturday 1 pm at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, 23000 Gratiot, Eastpointe. Instate Saturday noon at the church. Memorials to the Ronald Scherer Memorial Fund at the church.
