Rose M. Malo

Rose M. Malo passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2011, at the age of 89. She was born on August 26th, 1922 in Posen, Michigan to Peter and Felicia Nowosielski. Rose was a resident of Grosse Pointe Woods for 56 years. She was employed by the Uniroyal Tire Company where she met her late husband, Rene. She was predeceased by her husband Rene in 1969. In 1979, Rose met Paul Rollins. Paul and Rose were loving companions for 32 years and Paul displayed his love for Rose by his unconditional caregiving throughout the many years of her debilitating illness, which fulfilled her wish to remain at home. Rose was well known throughout the community because of her involvement with St. Joan of Arc Church, where she was a member for 56 years. Along with her church involvement, she also sold Avon in the Grosse Pointe area for over 40 years. Rose enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family. She was known as an excellent cook. She had a true love for life, family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all of the people whose lives she touched. Rose was the beloved mother of Brenda (Gerald) Smith, Cindy (Gary) Gustafson, and Roseann (Paul) Winkler. She was the beloved grandmother of Nicole (Jason) Kolevar, Joel Prinzivalli, Briana Gustafson, Bryan Winkler, Allison Gustafson, and Katelyn Winkler. Dearest great-grandmother to Justin Kolevar, and Madison Kolevar. Rose was survived by her sisters Jane, Peggy, Elsie, Shirley and her brother Joseph. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Chester, John, Victoria, Helen, Bill, Stella, Sophie, and Dorothy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 pm. Rose will lie instate on Wednesday from 11:30 am until the time of Mass at 12:00 pm at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores.
