Ruth E. Novitke

Ruth E. Novitke, age 85 died September 7, 2009 at Beaumont Hospital-Grosse Pointe after a brief illness. She was born December 21, 1923 in Cumberland, Maryland the daughter of Harold and Elizabeth Evans. Mrs. Novitke was a former member of the Bruce Post Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed golf, reading and her grandchildren. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Ervin (d.2006) and the dear mother of Robert E. Novitke (Marsha) and Dennis B. Novitke (Terri). She was the cherished grandmother of Debra McCarthy (John), David, Michael, Deanna Deldin (Marc) and the late James. She is also survived by her brother Richard Evans (the late Margaret) and sisters Betty Stanley (Robert) and Sharleen Schumacher (Paul). Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Frederick Harms, pastor of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Grosse Pointe Farms officiating.
