Serge was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He fought for many years through sickness, but you wouldn’t have known it watching him ride bikes on Belle Isle and walking the halls of the DIA like it was nothing. Now, he gets to rest.
Serge was a great guy. He has truly left his mark on the world. He was hilarious. He had great taste in music, movies, clothes (especially back in the day. His wife, Wanda, says he looked just like David Bowie.) Serge was intelligent, passionate, hardworking and strong. He cared about the planet and was always looking for ways to conserve and recycle. He would spend free time in his retirement picking up litter from the beautiful parks he visited.
He was talented in countless ways and passed important life skills onto his children: wallpapering and its removal, how to change a tire, fix a toilet, cut a window in, drive a car like you want to get somewhere. His family often joked that he should be a tour guide: no matter where he took you, he had a story to tell about this building or that.
Serge is predeceased in death by parents Roland and Georgette Soucy, and sister Micheline Doyon. Serge is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Wanda Soucy; cherished children, Eric Napier, Monique (Nick) Edwards, and Katrina Soucy (Andre Waldon) as well as his 4 wonderful grandchildren Steven Napier, Arya Edwards, Nora Edwards and Aela Waldon. He is also survived by his brother Robert Soucy, sisters Marjolaine Haeck and Celine Locurto, brother-in-law Serge Dojon and his many loving nieces and nephews.
