

Simon was born in Detroit to Elia Derian and Archalous “Louise” nee Taniellian. He was the youngest of the three boys.
Simon met his future wife Theresa Ybarra at his brother Jack’s home in Detroit. Joyce (Jack’s wife) introduced the two; They started dating, got married, and had four children. His biggest achievement when asked!
Simon graduated high school then went on to learn a trade in drafting. He was an automotive designer and worked for the “Big 3” for 40 years. His blueprints were impeccable.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and canoeing. He kept a well-maintained yard. It was rewarding and essential. Simon loved to laugh, sing, and play the guitar. He had a quick wit and enjoyed family gatherings. Simon treasured Armenian food, desserts, and traditions.
Simon will be missed by his loving children Simone Jackson (the late David), Jennifer Wesenberg (James), Anthony Derian, and Vincent Derian (Hailie); adored grandchildren John Jackson (Iria), Mallory Janiszewski (Luke), Stormy Godinez, Lonnie Troxel, Destiny Troxel, and Zachary Fretwell; as well as many nieces and nephews.
