Stephen Dwight Anderson

Stephen "Steve" D. Anderson of Sterling Heights, Michigan peacefully returned to the arms of the Lord on Friday, May 17, 2019, at the age of 67. Steve was born on January 16, 1952 in Cookeville, TN to L.M. and Lillie Mae Anderson. He met the love of his life, Deborah DeRouchie in 1973, and they married shortly after. Together they shared the blessing of welcoming four beautiful children into the world. Steve worked for Ford Motor Company at the Sterling Axle Plant for 31 years, before retiring in 2007. He was also a member of the UAW Local 288. He loved reading fiction novels, listening to blues music, feeding birds, and watching Detroit sports-especially the Tigers. Steve has been a member of Warren Woods Baptist Church since 1981. Steve is survived by his loving mother, Lillie Mae; his wife of 45 years, Debbie; his four children Monica (Loren) Papasian, Leanda (Richard) Schodowski, Cassandra (Rob) Hunyor, and Stephen (Kristin); adoring grandchildren Alex, Anastasia, Charlie, Lincoln, Olive, and Lucy; his sisters Renee (Gene) Harkins, and Shanda (John) Mustola. Steve is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws. Steve is reunited in heaven with his father Lewis "L.M." and his brother Gary. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, in Warren, Michigan; and for his funeral, Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Warren Woods Baptist Church, 14251 Twelve Mile Road, Warren, Michigan, with visitation at 10:00 a.m., and a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
