My most sincere condolences to Steve's family. I just happened to be in Gilbert's hardware today and, of course, spoke to someone who knew Steve. I didn't realize he had passed. I used to live down Woodhall from Steve, meeting the first time (in the 1980's) when he commented on the '73 Bug I was driving up at the Shell station. Since I moved to Indian Village we didn't see each other often, but every time I saw him he told me how he had just been thinking of me. What a unique, interesting, intelligent man. So obviously an old soul. The last time we spoke, which must have been within a month of his passing, he said, "let's get together, but I'll leave it up to you, "cause you're going to have to come pick me up". I took too long to get back to him and I regret that. He was one of the best people I've ever known and am now missing him greatly. I have no problem believing that he may have been too beautiful for this world. But he'll probably be back.

You always had your heart on your sleeve. We dated during our teens and you were always a gentleman. I was surprised that such a sweet person was taken so young. I'm sure you are in heaven "fixing" stuff there.

My heart goes out to the Gosskie family. May your pain be short and memories long. I first met Steve when I hired in at Pointe Hardware & Lumber in 1989. We hit it off working there together. He always had a smile and wit about him. I didn't know my arse from a hole in the ground in regards to the plumbing department (and I guess a lot of other things). He took me under his wing and enjoyed my questioning him about every bin/part in the plumbing department. Somehow he knew everything. The knowledge he so happily passed on became a part of the foundation to my successful career. I never forget him and will always be grateful.

My condolences to his family.. I'm an old classmate of Steve's. I was at the Cadieux Cafe a few weeks ago. I looked up at the picture of a bearded fellow and thought, that guy has got to be a real character.. I didn't know at the time that that was Steve.. I remember him fondly from school and he was, a real character! Rest in peace buddy.

Our thoughts are with the Gosskie family during this extremely sad time. We are both heartbroken over the news of Steve's passing. Steve, you were an original soul, and your dance moves were second to none. We loved you for your humour, warmth, passion and authenticity. You were a dear friend and will never be forgotten. "Mom & Dad" Gosskie, It's been many years, but I still think of you both fondly! I have so many great memories of time spent with Steve, Heidi, and Dan at your home. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Steve is one of the great members of the Featherbowling Club that had a tremendous impact on all with whom he came in contact, including the bowling lane itself! Steve could always be counted on to elevate the enthusiasm and enjoyment of the game with his exuberant (and many times unconventional) methods of playing the game and sharing his successes and failures with all present. His freshness and lively antics were never insulting or degrading. His character would always be respectful of his opponents and the game. His irreverence was always directed at himself or that little wooden ball. Steve's impact on all the members of our little club will remain on our lips and in our hearts for generations to come. Sleep Well Steve. You have scored a 10 again!
