Theresa Crawford

Theresa Crawford passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 30, 2014. She was born on March 31, 1923 in Scotland; daughter of William and Jane (nee Docherty) Gallagher. She immigrated to the United States in 1956 to provide a better life for her family. Theresa had a wonderful sense of humor even as her health failed. She loved to entertain and was a great baker. Theresa and her husband James loved returning to Scotland to visit friends and relatives. They loved life and loved dancing. Theresa loved her tea and cigarettes. Her biggest love in life was her family. She was predeceased by her husband James and son James. She leaves behind her loving daughter Jean Braithwaite (the late John). She was proud of her grandchildren Lynn, Mark, Leslie, and Ryan. She is survived by 6 great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving of 6 siblings. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 until 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. She will lie instate on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:30 am at St. Philomena Catholic Church, 4281 Marsielles, Detroit.
