Tony Ferris

Tony Ferris, age 91, a longtime resident of Grosse Pointe Shores, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 in Detroit. Tony was born January 23, 1928 in West Frankfort, Illinois to George and Chrisi Ferarolis and raised in Detroit. Tony was a hard working and well accomplished family man. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII and the Korean War. He received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University with magna cum laude honors. He then graduated from Wayne State University Law School at the top of his class. Tony served as the chief assistant prosecuting Attorney in Macomb County. He was a well respected attorney in his private practice located in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Tony was also the Attorney of Record for the Van Dyke School Board where he represented the district at the U. S. Supreme Court. Most importantly to Tony was spending time with his family. He enjoyed woodworking and making beautiful furniture for his family. Tony was very active and enjoyed playing tennis and racquetball. He was an avid golfer and even scored a "hole in one" at Gowanie Golf Club. He was a longtime supporting member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Beloved husband of Audrey, whom he met at the Cretan Greek Convention in Akron, Ohio in 1949 and married July 20, 1952 in New York. Loving father of Dr. Mary Ferris and Georgie (Bob) Pachella. Dear grandfather of Andriana and Tony Pachella. Loved brother of Mike (Helen) Ferarolis and the late Dr. John (Diana) Ferris. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Visitation Monday from 3-8 PM with Trisagion at 5 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd. Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.
