Verna Lillian Ryan

Verna Lillian Ryan was born September 29, 1922 in Allouez, Michigan and entered into rest August 22, 2014 at the age of 91 (11 months). She was the beloved wife of Francis (Bud) for 67 years and loving mother of Carol Copping, Janet (Douglas) Gaffka and James (Elizabeth) Ryan. Verna was the cherished grandmother of Kimberly (Dave) Simon, Kristi(Ben) Copping, Ryan and Katarina Gaffka, Chase, Shane and Maria Ryan and great-grandmother of Elise and Elena Simon. Sister-in-iaw of Pricilla and sister of the late Wallace, Bill(May), Fred(Leona), Helen (Tom) and Walter (Marianne) .Verna was the dearest aunt of several nieces and nephews. Born in Allouez in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and graduated with honors from Calumet High, continued education in business. She moved to Detroit for employment heading the payroll for the Atlas Brewing Company for six years. After many devoted years raising her family, she then worked in the Treasury Department for Wayne County. She and Bud traveled extensively to several continents, with each trip back to Allouez. In state 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Memorial Mass Saturday September 6th, at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, Saint Clair Shores, Michigan 48080. Monsignor Michael Bugarin will be officiating.
