My mom was such an independent woman and could fix anything.  This “Can Do attitude” didn’t stop even though she was well into her nineties. She could be seen climbing a ladder to put up a Christmas wreath on the house or crawling onto the kitchen counter to fix the window blind.  As her 22-year-old mini-van started to rust, she decided to use spray paint and cover the spots.  She would laugh and say “old Besty” needs to last until I croak.”  My mom had a sense of humor.  Her laughter was contagious. I will miss her dearly.  My mom is in heaven now with the love of her life my Dad.  I know they are dancing together looking down on us.  

My Grammy was a nice and kind woman. I was her only granddaughter. My favorite memory is when she and Grandpa Casey would take me to White Castle's for lunch. Another memory I'll have is when she would pick me up after catechism class on Saturdays. We would go out to lunch and I would visit her for a little bit. We sometimes like to go to Uncle Ralph's or Nana's and visit them too. We would get Little Caeser's pizza and take it to their house.

When I was really young, Grammy told my mother that she bought a set of fine China that she was planning to give to me when I got older. It was the most thoughtful and greatest gift she's ever gotten me. I will miss her terribly, but I will never forget her.
