Virginia was a lifelong resident of Eastpointe. She worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation when J. Edgar Hoover was the active director, as a secretary transcribing agent’s notes or taking dictation in short-hand. She married her husband Harry Liposky on August 21, 1948 and went on to have four children. She will be remembered for her love of music, her humor, her ability to cut a rug, and her love of food. Her greatest joy and legacy was her love of family. In her own words, “I am so proud of my kids and grandkids and great grandkids. They are all special to me”.
She is survived by four children, Randall Liposky (Pam) of Pawley’s Island, SC, Lawrence Liposky (Ann) of Allen Park, Charlene Distler (Tim) of Harrison Twp., and Carol Liposky (Lana) of Eastpointe; her seven grandchildren, Bryce Liposky, Adam Liposky (Yesica), Andy Liposky ( Candyce), Amanda Liposky (Josh), Sara Dziurman (Nate), Rebecca Goulette (Scott), and Ralph “RT” Tope. In addition, she is survived by her 6 great -grandchildren, Rachael, Addison, Emmett, Olivia, Penelope and Theo. Numerous extended family and close friends also survive her.
Aside from her loving parents, her husband, Harry who passed away in 2017, precedes Virginia in death.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in A.H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236) with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Her funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with instate to begin after 9:30 a.m. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.
