Virginia Cecile Shunk

Virginia Cecile Shunk, age 88, died peacefully on Sunday, October 21, 2018 with family by her side. Virginia was born on Monday, May 5, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan; the daughter of Casmer and Catherine Super (Superczyski). Virginia met her future husband Richard in high school. They had no interest in anyone else, they were the one and only for each other. Together they had 9 wonderful children. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In her spare time she was known to read and crochet. She had a heart for helping others. She volunteered for several charities and was a member of the Clinton Valley Lions Club since 2003. Beloved wife of the late Richard. Loving mother of Diane (Paul) Ehrler, Joyce (Douglas) Bies, Karen (Robert) Hanovich, Daniel (Ann) Shunk, Cheryl (Thomas) Aquino, Victoria Willits, Paula Keipert, Kathy (Mark) Huffman, and the late Thomas (surviving wife Sue) Shunk. Cherished grandmother of 28, great-grandmother of 55, and great-great-grandmother of 7. Dear sister of Marilyn (John) Kontos and predeceased by 1 sister and 2 brothers. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic, Warren, Michigan. Instate Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 9:30 am until time of funeral Mass 10:00 am at the St. Louis Catholic Community, 24415 Crocker Blvd., Clinton Township, Michigan. Private interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
