TOMASEVIC, Virginia Petrouleas Lounsberry December 24, 2013 Age 88 Beloved wife of the late Nikola. Dear mother of Marina L. Sterling (Peter) of San Diego, CA, Barbara L. Richnow of Stafford, TX, and the late Christopher Lounsberry. Loving grandmother of Jason and Russell Reid of Stafford, Texas, and Adam and Michael Sterling of New York City. Also survived by stepson Peter Tomasevic, cousins George and Christ Petrouleas and their families, and dear friend Ivanka Beginin. Virginia, youngest child of Christ and Radojka Petrouleas, was predeceased by brother George and sister Hope. Virginia was a 1946 graduate of the University of Michigan, where she met first husband Frederick Lounsberry. Virginia was proud of her Greek and Serbian heritage, and was a founding member of St. Stevan Decanski Serbian Orthodox Church, Warren, MI. In 1973 she married Nikola Tomasevic, a Canadian, and she enjoyed many years living in Ontario, Canada. She was a woman of many talents including mosaic arts, sculpture, and opera singing. In Canada, Virginia hosted an international music radio program, directed church choirs, and managed investment properties. Virginia loved entertaining, and she taught her family to appreciate home cooking. After some years in San Diego, she returned to her beloved Michigan, settling in St. Clair Shores. An avid reader, Virginia believed in the importance of continued learning throughout one's life, and she loved sharing her knowledge with others. Special thanks to the caregivers at Shorepointe Village for comforting Virginia in her final months. Visitation Thursday 4-8 pm with Trisagion 6:30 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. In state Friday 9:30 am until time of service 10 am at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 21800 Marter Road, St. Clair Shores 48080. Memorial contributions appreciated to Assumption Church or to the Serbian Singing Federation, P.O. Box 71007, Madison Heights, MI 48071. Private interment at a later date.
