
Wanda "Sue" Knapik, age 62 of Harrison Township, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 29, 1958 in Cookeville, Tennessee, the daughter of Clarence and Iris "Faye" (nee: Davenport) Riddle. Sue was a beloved teacher who recently retired from Anchor Bay Public Schools after 39 years of teaching. She was an avid camper and took every opportunity she had to hit the road. Besides camping, Sue enjoyed traveling. The Smoky Mountains were her favorite, her bucket list trip was seeing the colors change in the mountains which she was able to achieve this past fall staying in a cabin with her closest friends and her family. She was a beautiful person with a beautiful soul. She laughed easily and loved big. Sue had a huge heart and infectious smile. She is one of those people that leave a hole that no one else can fill, when they are taken. She was married 33 years to her loving husband, Larry. They were blessed with two children, Emily and Andrew. Most of all, Memaw's greatest joy in life were her grandchildren; Brooklyn, James and Lincoln. She adored them immensely, and leaves them to cherish the "Memaw moments" that were always so important to her. This faithful, fun and loving lady leaves a legacy of love that will be remembered by all whose lives were touched through her kindness and compassion. Sue was the beloved wife of Larry Knapik. She was the dear mother of Emily (Jerome) Powell and Andrew Knapik. Loving grandmother of Brooklyn, James and Lincoln. Sister of Debra Barron and the late Timothy Riddle. Survived by many close loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.Visitation for Sue will be held on Sunday from 2-9pm, at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road at Masonic (13 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. She will lie in state from 11am until the time of Service at 12pm at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 64395 Romeo Plank Road (29 1/2 mile) in Ray. Officiating the service will be Pastor Ron Meadows. Interment will follow at Christian Memorial Gardens West Cemetery in Rochester Hills.
