

Welda Violet Felber In celebration of the long life of Welda Gorlitz Cole Felber, 102, who returned to the Lord on Friday, April 20, 2018. Welda was born at the end of WW I on January 31, 1916. She lived a long and happy life and her motto was I want to wear out not rust out, which is what she did. Welda was a devout Christian and a member of Hope United Church of Christ-Fraser. There were very few Sundays she was not at church. She was also very active in fraternal organizations including: 1. A lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron three times and never missed annual Grand Chapter. 2. A lifetime member of Daughters of the Nile, serving as Queen as well as appointed Supreme Escort to the Temple Banner while never missing the annual Great Lakes Unit Meet. 3. Ladies Oriental Shrine serving as High Priestess and a founding member of the Clown Unit. 4. She also served as a Mother Advisor to the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. And she will always be remembered as the clown Lil Picn. Her active participation in these organizations meant a lot to her and as a member commented, "She was loved by all for her ethics, friendships, and most of all, her sense of humor. " Welda was born in Detroit to Edwin Charles Gorlitz and Sophie Meinke Gorlitz. She is survived by her brother Alvord Gorlitz and predeceased by her sisters Beverly Gorlitz Hoenicke and Pearl Gorlitz. Welda buried two husbands, Samuel Cole and Daniel Felber. She is survived by her two children Prudence Cole (Richard) Klimisch and Timothy Cole (Nancy). She spent many wonderful hours with her grandchildren Elizabeth Cole Rogers (William), Samuel Cole and Alexanderia Cole and loved to spend time with her two great grandchildren Lincoln and Lennox Rogers. She was also blessed to have two step-grandsons, Kurt Klimisch (Nicole) and Erik Klimisch with six additional Klimisch great grand children, Kristen (Digard), Noah, Erin, Ian, Abigail and Daniel. Visitations will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 and 2 to 9 p.m. April 26 at A. H. Peters Funeral Home in Warren at 32000 Schoenherr. An Eastern Star memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 and on Thursday Daughters of the Nile service at 7:00 and Ladies Oriental Shrine service at 7:30. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 27 at 11:00 at Hope UCC-Fraser, 35127 Garfield Rd. Clinton Township and preceded by a viewing at 10:00.
