Wilfred Cook

Wilfred Charles Cook passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at the age of 96. A son of Charles and Mary (nee DeSmither), Wilfred was born on February 13, 1923 in Detroit. He attended college at Sacred Heart Seminary before making his career as an industrial engineer at General Motors. Wilfred proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II, specializing in intelligence. Wilfred was predeceased by his beloved wife Celia (nee Burcon), four sisters, and one brother. He was the dear brother of Jeanette Wiedemann. Wilfred will be missed by many loving nieces and nephews. Wilfred will lie in state on Wednesday, August 21, from 9:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack Ave., St. Clair Shores, 48080. He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp., Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donation's in Wilfred's memory may be made to the Province of St. Joseph of the Capuchin Order, 1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, MI 48207, or to the donor's choice.
