William Robert Listman

William Robert Listman passed away peacefully on February 12, 2020, in his home, at the age of 81. He was the loving husband of the late Arlene Listman who passed away in 1996. He was a beloved father to William (Stephanie), Jennifer (David) Barthel, and Robert (Maryann). He was the grandfather of Jacqueline, Katherine, and Stephen Listman; Connor and Lauren Barthel; and Alexandria and Colin Listman. He was predeceased by his siblings, Shirley McLellan, George Listman, and Jackie Listman. Bill was a scholar athlete at the University of Detroit where he played varsity football for the University of Detroit Titans. He went on to attend the Detroit College of Law. He worked as a lawyer at Conklin, Benham for over 30 years and was a chairperson of the Workers Compensation section of the State Bar of Michigan. He enjoyed spending his retirement watching all of his grandchildren grow and vacationing with them up north in Harbor Springs. Whether it was attending a school play, watching his grandchildren play their various sports, or simply babysitting, he was always happy to be with his grandchildren. During his retirement, he also enjoyed playing competitive pickle ball. His infectious laugh and his love of life will be greatly missed.
