Yvonne W. Barnard was born June 11, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and entered into rest August 10, 2013 in Grosse Pointe at the age of 72. Yvonne was the loving wife of the late George and dearest sister of Dr. James (Pat) Swad, Edmond (Joan) Swad, Richard Swad and the late Eileen Holman and Kamel (Karolyn ) Swad. She was the beloved aunt of many nieces, nephews and great- nieces and nephews. Yvonne was an active member of the Harper Woods and Grosse Pointe Woods Rotary and involved with Services For Older Citizens and the Guyton Elementary School Preservation. Visitation Thursday 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm with Trisagion at 7:00 pm. Funeral Friday 10:00 am at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705, Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods. Burial will take place at Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Michigan Humane Society or Services For Older Citizens.
