
Yvonne Wisniewski passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2009. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 13, 1920 to Isaac and Jennie Michael. Yvonne graduated from Miller High School in 1938. Mrs. Wisniewski lived an active life. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a devout Catholic. The beauty of flowers captivated Yvonne. She enjoyed playing Euchre and Bingo. Windmill Pointe Park was one of her favorite places to visit. Her family said that she was called "the queen of accessorizing" and that malls were invented for her shopping enjoyment. She will be missed by her children Marshall (Leanne), Marsha Bruce, Marc, Michael (Gina), and Michele (Jim). She was proud of her grandchildren Margaret, Jennifer, DeAnna, and Kyle; and great grandchildren Leah Eve and Emily. She is survived by her brother Raymond Michael (Ann). A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday May 21st at Noon at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Father Valentine Gattari will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Yvonne will be buried next to her husband Clarence at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family or Hospice of Michigan.
