Barbara Jane Clark

Barbara “Jane” Clark, aged 74, of Grove City, Ohio, and formerly of Moundsville, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026. Born on September 8, 1952, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Jane lived a life beautifully dedicated to faith, family, and music.

Jane was a proud 1970 graduate and valedictorian of John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, West Virginia. She went on to attend West Virginia University, graduating with top honors in 1974 with a degree in medical technology. That same spring, on March 29, 1974, she married the love of her life, George “Roger” Clark, at the Old Drummond Chapel in Morgantown, West Virginia.

A woman of varied talents and deep faith, Jane worked as a medical technologist at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale and East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio. She shared her love for learning as an educator at Praise Christian Academy in Glen Dale. Music was one of Jane’s greatest passions; she played multiple instruments and shared her gift as a pianist for praise and worship teams across various church communities over the years. A devout Christian, she was most recently honored to be a member of the congregation at New Life Fellowship in Shadyside, Ohio.

In her quiet time, Jane enjoyed drawing with pastels, crocheting, and making clothing. She deeply loved her dogs and cherished the time she spent living in Bradenton, Florida, before returning north to be closer to her family.

Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Shepard Child of Moundsville, West Virginia.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Roger, and her children: Trevor (Theresa) Clark of Hilliard, Ohio; Rachel (Ben) Potters of Blacksburg, Virginia; and Robin (Aaron) Hoback of Chester, Virginia. She is also survived by her eight wonderful grandchildren: Shane and Alex Potters; Grace and Gavin Clark; and Jude, Shepard, Asher, and Selah Hoback.

To honor her memory, the family requests that donations be made to the Dementia Society of America.
