Barton "Bart" K. Jones

Barton Keith Jones, age 64 of Grove City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on march 21, 1959. Bart was a retired member of IUPAT-The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades and worked up the ranks at W.F. Bolin Painting Company. Bart worked his way up the ranks of the union and became a foreman which suited his meticulous nature very well. In 2010, Bart was awarded by the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio the Craftsmanship Award for outstanding work at Huntington Park. Bart enjoyed meeting the many people from numerous trades he met along the way. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, cheering on the Buckeyes, Browns, and Indians. Bart was a kind man who always rose to the occasion to help anyone who needed his help. He took it upon himself to tirelessly work on things until the job at hand was completed. Most of all, he loved his family and will be dearly missed. Bart is preceded in death by his father Eugene Jones; and brother Marvin Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cheryl; daughter Jennifer Jones (Jeff) Erwin; son Brian (Amy) Jones; his grandchildren to whom he was “Papaw” Leila, Christopher, and Ryliegh; his mother Gertrude Jones; siblings Wilma Meek, Kathy (Jeff) Dortmund, Melinda (Michael) Murray, Judy Jones, and Johnny (Deanna) Jones; and many nieces and nephews; and his American Eskimo Dogs Coby and Yazmine. Bart’s family will receive friends 4-7 PM Monday, August 14 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover RD (HOOVER RD at KINGSTON AVE) where his funeral service will follow at 7 PM. Pastors Mike Lape and Joshua Sandy officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, August 15 at Glen Rest Memorial Estates 8029 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH.
