She was born in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Cora and Leonard Groves.
Charlene was the heartbeat of her family. She was a dedicated, hardworking woman and a loyal friend who could always be counted on. When Charlene started something, she saw it through to completion. She was incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and took pride in everything she did.
Known for her love of fashion, Charlene always enjoyed looking her best. She loved doing her hair and makeup, shopping for purses, soaking up the sunshine, and keeping her tan. She had a special appreciation for the beach, spending time outdoors, and enjoying the warmth of the sun. She was also a proud Buckeyes fan and had a special love for collecting red cardinals.
Summertime brought some of Charlene's favorite things, especially tending to and enjoying her beautiful flowers. Pink was her favorite color, and she found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Her beloved dog, Little Mitsey, also held a very special place in her heart.
One of Charlene's greatest joys was Thanksgiving. It was her favorite holiday, and fittingly, her birthday was also celebrated in November. She always said Thanksgiving was the best holiday because it was about bringing family together, enjoying homemade food, sharing laughter, and making memories without the pressure of buying gifts. To Charlene, the greatest gift was simply having everyone together.
Family meant everything to Charlene. She cherished the time spent with those she loved and created memories that will live on through the generations. Her love, dedication, strength, and the special traditions she created will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
Charlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Fisher, and her son-in-law, Greg Walker.
She is survived by her daughter, Christy Walker; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Though she will be deeply missed, Charlene's love will continue to live on through the family she adored, the memories she created, and the traditions she made so special. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she will forever remain the heartbeat of their family.
