Christopher Lamarr Fulton

Born October 16, 1949, Chris grew up in Upper Arlington, Ohio, graduating from Upper Arlington High School (1967). He earned his undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University (1971) and went on to graduate from Ohio Northern University College of Law (1974), while also studying at the University of Exeter in England.

Chris built a distinguished career in law, human resources, and public service. He served as Division Counsel for Chemlawn Services Corporation and Assistant General Counsel for Red Roof Inns, later serving as Vice President of Human Resources for Team America Corporation and served as Claims and Litigation Manager for The County Risk Sharing Authority.

His commitment to his community extended well beyond his career. Chris served as Director of Public Safety for the City of Grove City and was twice elected as a Council Member at Large. He remained active in his community through his HOA board, local theater groups, the German Village Singers, and his alumni organizations. He was also a member of Livingston Avenue Church and Grove City United Methodist Church.

But Chris will most be remembered for the way he lived.

He was always on the move. He loved to travel and rarely needed much of an excuse to plan the next adventure, taking multiple trips a year. Chris had an easy way of connecting with people, and friends seemed to find him everywhere he went.

He loved music, especially singing and playing guitar for anyone willing to listen. He loved a good joke, a good story and good spirits. He had a naturally upbeat personality with an enthusiasm for life that made it easy to be around him and have a good time.

Most importantly, Chris was a devoted father and grandfather. He was patient, present, and involved, always making time to participate in the lives and activities of his children and grandchildren. He was a father who showed up, and a grandfather who was genuinely interested in being part of their lives.

Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Diane K. Fulton. He is survived by his children, Scott Fulton and Marc Fulton (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Madison Fulton and Fern Fulton; his longtime partner, Terri Dickey; his stepmother, Joan Fulton; and many friends whose lives were made better by knowing him.

Chris lived with a sense of adventure, an open door, and an ability to turn strangers into friends. His memory will be honored with a small family viewing, followed by a celebration of life at a later date — a party that will celebrate Chris the way he would have wanted: surrounded by family, friends, laughter, music, and a good time.

He was always ready for the next adventure.
