

She was born on November 26, 1933, in Monaville, West Virginia, to the late Drexel and Edith (Dilcher) Lambert.
Claris was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who deeply loved her family. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Simpkins and Carol (Bill) Weber; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, James Lambert, and her beloved feline companion, Charlie.
In addition to her parents, Claris was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Welch; her daughter, Cathy E. (Welch) Barton; her granddaughter, Amy Simpkins; and her siblings, Judy (Lambert) Snowden and Clarence Lambert.
Claris dedicated 31 years of service as a nurse for the State of Ohio. She also proudly volunteered as a firefighter and squad member with the Scioto Township Fire Department, serving her community with compassion and dedication.
Claris will be remembered for her love of family, her caring spirit, and the many memories she created with those she loved.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Norris Funeral Home, 4242 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123 with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery, 5001 Union Street, South Bloomfield, Ohio 43103.
