She was born on December 29, 1949, in Newton Falls, Ohio, to Eileen Hawk and William Marshall, who preceded her in death.
Debra was the beloved wife of James Ricker and a devoted mother to her children: James Ricker Jr., Jayme Bates (husband Brad), and Kip Ricker (wife Tracy). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Corbin Bates, Annie Stangland, Lia Claire Bates, Lilith Ricker, and Ezra Ricker, and great grandmother to Timmy Stangland.
She is also survived by her sisters Meredith Monteville and Karen Tellinger, her brother William Marshall, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Debra was a woman who could do anything she set her mind to. Creative and capable, she had a special gift for hospitality and made everyone feel welcome. She loved gardening, baking, decorating cakes, sewing, and creating beautiful Ukrainian eggs—an art she joyfully shared by teaching women at her church. She also delighted in spending time playing with her grandchildren.
Debra also had a deep love for animals, especially raising birds, caring for her chickens and dogs, and spending time in the sunshine with her ducks. Her life was marked by generosity, creativity, faith, and a quiet strength that blessed all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at St. Simon & Jude Church, 9350 High Free Pike, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162, on March 25, 2026, from 10-11 am. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Debra’s life, her love, and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
