Donnabel Ruth Stockum, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, in Cumming, Georgia. Born on November 23, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Sevilla Jackson, and the wife of the late Larry Stockum.
In her early years, Donnabel worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company in Columbus. Upon the birth of her first son, she found her true calling and dedicated her life to her family as a full-time mother. She was the ultimate supporter, happily acting as a chauffeur to every activity and never missing a single game or performance for her sons.
Donnabel was also a faithful member of Johns Creek Baptist Church, where she joyfully sang in the choir for many years. As a proud Columbus native, she was a passionate, lifelong fan of Ohio State football. While she also always held a special fondness for Hawaii and dolphins, her true passion and greatest joy remained her children and grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as "Grammie."
Donnabel is survived by her sons, Matt (Allison) Stockum and Dan (Beth) Stockum; and her cherished grandchildren, Ella, Emelia, Kaden, and Graham.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in the mausoleum at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio with interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Donnabel would have wanted everyone to invest in quality time with those closest to them.
