Doris Elaine Hoermle

Doris Elaine Hoermle, age 90, of Grove City, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William “Bill” Hoermle, son, Christopher Daily, parents, Thomas and Mabel (Coon) Hixenbaugh, brother, Thomas (Grace) Hixenbaugh, sister, Bette Mumma, sister-in-law, Ivy Jean Macioce, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John Albert and Dorothy Hoermle. She is survived by her step-son, William “Bill” (Stefanie) Hoermle, son, Eric (Cathy) Daily, daughters, Suzanne (Mark) Gainer, and Sally (Steve) Mitchell, grandchildren, Courtney (Mike) Parsley, Francesca Mitchell, Dominic Mitchell, step-granddaughter, Emily Hoermle, great grandchildren, Chloe Daily-Parsley, Maverick Parsley, Dante Mitchell, many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was a selfless and devoted woman whose greatest joy was her family. She retired from the Ohio Department of Human Services after 35 years of dedicated service. A longtime and prayerful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, she faithfully served as both Parish Council Secretary and Parish Secretary. She generously devoted countless hours to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, volunteered with the Grove City Food Pantry, and participated in Saturday food deliveries through Meals on Wheels. She was also an active member of the OLPH Silver Streaks.

She was a passionate supporter of the Grove City community and a devoted fan of local school music and theater programs, both public and private. She possessed an extraordinary gift for cooking and baking, and her kitchen was a place of warmth, love, laughter, and the best cupcakes. Nothing brought her more pride than attending her grandchildren’s performances—she rarely, if ever, missed one. She was a loyal Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enthusiastically followed OSU athletics and cheered on her teams with unwavering spirit.

Her faith, generosity, and love for family, community, and service leave a lasting legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 4:00PM-7:00PM at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY, 4242 Hoover Rd., Grove City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
