Emily Jane Gerwig

Emily J. Gerwig, age 91, passed peacefully to heaven at the Laurels of West Columbus on Sunday, February 13, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Anna (Ranke) Brandenberger, her loving husband of 39 years, Aaron Gerwig, her siblings, Arthur Brandenberger, Maguerite Hafey, Clarence "Butch" Brandenberger, Helen Shade, Marion "Doc" Brandenberger, Esther Brandenberger, and Lester Brandenberger. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Bob) McDaniel, grandchildren, Brian (Carolina) McDaniel, Colleen (Ben) Lee, great grandchildren, Ethan McDaniel, Ulric, Sawyer, and Brohnson Lee, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Emily was a graduate of Central High School. She enjoyed many different jobs over her lifetime, including helping her husband with his bookkeeping business, a receptionist turned vet tech, starting and running a successful dog grooming business, and the job she probably enjoyed most was floral designer. Emily was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, a Lady of the Moose Lodge #11, and the American Legion Post #532. She and Aaron retired to Florida and spent several years there. Emily loved butterflies, golf, dancing, and making her amazing peanut butter fudge to share with family and friends! A visitation time will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 4-7 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY 4242 Hoover Rd (Hoover Rd and Kingston Ave) where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 10 am with Pastor William Saunders officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church 2745 W. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43204
