Florence "Flossie" Cahill

Flossie retired from Huntington Bank after more than 18 years of dedicated service as a Trust Officer, a role that reflected her steady judgment, thoughtful care for others, and the quiet reliability so many came to count on.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, William Michael Cahill; her parents, Guy and Ethel (Young) Dupler; her son, William “Bill” Cahill; her brother, Don (Carol) Dupler; Martha (Neil) Messerly; and Joann (Bill) Conner.

She is survived by her sons, Steven (Debbie) Cahill and Jeffrey (Stacy) Cahill; her daughter-in-law, Maureen Cahill; her grandchildren, Erin Cahill, Brian Cahill, Brad (Amy) Cahill, Brent (Megan) Cahill, Courtney (Matt) Shaul, Caitlin (Cameron Coup) Cahill, and Colin (Gabby) Cahill; her great-grandchildren, Maddie, Cole, Cory, Reese, Taylor, Lucy, Tanner, and Grace; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

At home was where Flossie’s heart most naturally shone. She enjoyed being at home, and her hands were rarely still—crocheting blankets that wrapped generations in warmth and care. In countless everyday ways, she placed the needs of her family before her own, giving of herself with a generosity that asked for nothing in return.

To her neighbors, she was affectionately known as “Cookie,” a name earned through the simple, sincere kindness of baking for others—an offering that made people feel remembered and welcome. Gentle and sweet by nature, patient in spirit, and beloved by many, Flossie also carried a quick wit that could brighten a room and soften even ordinary days with understated humor. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely, the steadiness she modeled, and the tenderness she left in the lives of all who knew her.

A Private family graveside service will be held at Grove City West Cemetery.
