George David Douglas

George David Douglas, 88, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2026, in Westerville, Ohio. He was born November 25, 1937 in Athens, Ohio to the late Harold Douglas and Marie Ackley. He didn't live with either of his parents, but was raised by his mother's parents where his uncles became his siblings.

He was a loving husband, father, and caregiver to the entire family and others in need. He worked hard his entire life and could build or fix most anything. He left school after the 10th grade to help his Grandfather lay block. Ultimately he moved his family to Columbus for work and became a highly experienced contractor and led many large projects throughout Columbus.

Whenever visiting him at the Senior Living facility, both residents and staff would comment on how nice a man he was and how funny he was.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Diana Sue Douglas, and survived by his children, Susan (David) Herman, Thelma Denise Burkhard, and David Wayne Douglas; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great-grandchild. In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held at this time. His cremated remains will be placed at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus Ohio, alongside his wife at a future date.
