Harry F. Irwin

Harry F. Irwin, 85, passed away on July 27, 2026. Born September 6, 1940, Harry lived a life marked by steady devotion, quiet wisdom, and a gentle strength that was felt most deeply by those who knew and loved him.

A graduate of Lafayette College, Harry earned a degree in Chemical Engineering and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, where he formed lifelong friendships. His curiosity and sense of adventure carried into the years that followed, shaping a life defined by purposeful work and enduring relationships.

Harry served as an officer in the United States Army and the Army Reserves for over a decade. He was also an accomplished engineer, known for a diligent, hard-working spirit and a loyal commitment to the responsibilities entrusted to him.

For 63 years, Harry was married to the love of his life, Judy Irwin. He is survived by his children, Stephen (Lorraine) Irwin and Susan (Michael) Kline; his sister, Maud Irwin; his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ryan) Shehane, Katherine Kline(Justin Adams), and Scott Kline; and his great granddaughter, Claire Shehane. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry F. Irwin, Sr. and Elizabeth Irwin.

Harry found joy in the simple and lasting pleasures of life. He enjoyed playing tennis, stamp collecting, travelling, and watching trains—especially steam engines—interests that reflected both his thoughtful nature and his enduring appreciation for craft, history, and motion.

Visitation will be held at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Road, Grove City, OH 43123, on August 11, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at the same location on August 11, 2026, beginning at 3:30 pm.

Harry will be remembered as beloved and steadfast—an adventurous spirit with a gentle presence, a loyal heart, and a wise, steady hand that helped guide his family and friends through the years.
