She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years Thomas E. Moore, parents Harry Wayne and Verda (Smith) Welch, daughter Michelle Moore Stover, son-in-law Terry Taylor, and brothers Walter Welch, Jack (Jane) Welch, and Richard Welch. Helen is survived by her daughters, Christine Taylor and Deborah (Ronan) Factora; son-in-law G. William Stover; grandchildren Patrick (Rachele), Justin, Matthew (Katie), Shawn, Joshua, Emily, Sophia, Kaitlyn, and Simon; great granddaughters, Charlotte and Eleanor; sister-in-law Skip Welch, her best friends Margaret Castle and Carol Webb-Scholl, and a long host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Faithful Child of God Helen dedicated her life to serve those in need, caring for anyone who found themselves delivered by God onto her doorstep. Helen, stretching an already tight budget, fed the neighborhood children. She offered not just a hot meal but also a place at her table and a mother’s love. Every Christmas Helen would buy toys and deliver them under the cover of darkness, not to be gifts from Santa but rather from the parents who struggled to pay for her to babysit their children. Keeping children out of foster care, Helen took children in when parents were struggling and needed a weekend or a week to get themselves in a better place to care for their own children. Every child she cared for would always have a home no matter how far away or how much time had passed. Later in life, Helen spent her time in prayerful service to those in need, answering the cry for prayers from both those closest to her and strangers around the world. She would answer every plea she saw and would follow up with a personal message of encouragement.
Married to Tom for 52 years Helen loved her family very much. She would drop anything she was doing to spend time with them whether it was around the dinner table or at Indian Lake. She loved when the grandkids would share their day with her. She was proud of each of her grandchildren and she loves them beyond measure.
Loved by so many, Helen will continue to live in the legacy she has left, having touched so many lives. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 5-8 pm with a Rosary service at 7:30 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY 4242 Hoover Rd. (Hoover Rd. at Kingston Ave.). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church 473 S. Roys Ave. Columbus, OH 43204 with Father Slawomir Siok, Celebrant.
